Flower tubes is made from 240 individual cylinders. Each concentric ring of cylinders is slightly offset aiming to lead the eye to trace an arc from the centre to edge. But does it go clockwise or anti-clockwise? The cylinders heights, radius and orientation all vary to produce a flattened dome. If the cylinders were extended behind the canvas they would meet at a point exactly 2 meters into the wall. Whilst the outside of all the tubes are red, the insides are painted each with a different shade fading from a vibrant yellow in the centre to almost red at the outer extremities.
